Small Lobi bateba figure, with wood patina of use. Representative a figure, standing with arms glued to the body. Erosion damage at the base of the figure. This figure possesses the attributes of bateba figures created by the Lobi peoples. They are described as intermediaries between men and protective spirits called Thila. Figure from the Batié region of Burkina faso.

We find the Lobi people in Burkina Faso, few in Ghana and in Northern of Ivory Coast.
